A COMMITMENTTO SAILING
-
As a leading French manufacturer of technical watches for professionals, MAT watches made its first foray into the world of sailing in 2017 by designing the regatta chronographs for Team France in the 35th America’s Cup, released in a limited edition of 300 pieces. Since then, the brand has kept its course and trimmed the winch by first partnering with skipper Vincent Riou and then creating a model dedicated to sea rescuers of the SNSM. More recently, MAT watches has also teamed up with Kevin Escoffier. During the last Vendée Globe, Escoffier’s Imoca (PRB) sank off the coast of Cape of Good Hope, taking with it three “Compressor SNSM” watches that the navigator had taken on board and were intended for a charity auction. “Sailing is an extension of everything we do, since our creation,” summarizes Fabrice Pougez. The partnership with Les Voiles d’Antibes is part of this beautiful dynamic.
