Picobello X Société de l’Horlogerie

The French watchmaking house M.A.T unveils an ultra-limited series creation: a watch designed in collaboration with the Société de l’Horlogerie, whose Parisian pétanque club, chaired by journalist and author Paul Miquel, brings together enthusiasts of fine timepieces and hedonism.

This piece, produced in very small numbers, is reserved for members of this iconoclastic club that blends two seemingly opposite worlds – pétanque and watchmaking – but that share the essentials: precision, technique… and a true sense of pleasure and friendship.

For Fabrice Pougez, founder and CEO of MATWATCHES – and an accomplished pétanque player – this project is a return to his roots.

The design of the Picobello Chrono, with its cheerful tones, draws inspiration from the aesthetics of 1970s pilot watches, those that exuded boldness and adventure.

Behind this neo-retro silhouette beats an even more intimate emotion; like the “Madeleine de Proust” of a four-year-old learning pétanque with his grandfather.

A story of friendship, family, and transmission, which guided every detail during the creation process.

Designed as a nod to the spirit of the club – convivial, passionate, and a little playful – the watch combines genuine watchmaking rigor with a self-aware sense of humor.

It symbolizes the bonds that unite the members of the Société de l’Horlogerie: the simple pleasure of sharing a game, a gesture, a moment.

Launched as a preview for the end-of-year 2025 holidays, this limited edition celebrates a playful passion that has become a true French art of living.
